Connected systems. Coherent operations. We engineer reliable interfaces and messaging flows that help applications exchange information securely, predictably and at the right time.
Enterprise integration that makes systems work together
Business processes rarely live inside a single application. Information needs to move between finance, operational systems, customer applications and external services, often across different technologies and ownership boundaries. SOA Technologies helps design and implement the interfaces and messaging flows that keep those systems connected.
Our approach begins with the business exchange rather than the transport mechanism. We establish what information is required, which system is responsible for it, how quickly it must arrive and what should happen when a dependency is unavailable. Those decisions guide the use of APIs, asynchronous messaging and orchestration, with operational traceability considered throughout.
A closer look at the decisions and capabilities behind enterprise integration.
APIs and controlled system boundaries
REST APIs and API Management can provide explicit contracts between applications and consumers. We consider validation, access control, versioning and error behaviour alongside the interface itself. ERP and line-of-business integrations may also need transformations or compatibility with established SOAP services. The design should make responsibilities clear without exposing unnecessary details of the system behind the interface.
Messaging and event-driven integration
Asynchronous messaging can separate systems that do not need to be available at exactly the same moment. We consider delivery behaviour, duplicate handling, ordering and failure recovery when designing Service Bus and event-driven workflows. Logic Apps can support orchestration where it fits the business process. Monitoring and exception handling are part of the solution rather than work left until message flows fail.
Modernising established integration estates
Existing middleware often carries important behaviour that is not fully captured in documentation. Our BizTalk background supports the analysis of those estates, while Azure integration services provide options for their evolution. We examine transformations, routing and support procedures before changing the platform. A staged transition can preserve required interfaces while reducing dependence on difficult-to-maintain components.

HOW WE WORK WITH YOU
An integration design with operational ownership
Engagements can cover interface discovery, a defined set of integrations or the architecture for a wider integration programme. We agree message contracts, dependencies and acceptance criteria, then implement and validate the scoped flows. Support guidance explains how to follow a transaction, recognise a failure and take an appropriate recovery action.
Outputs we can agree together
Every engagement has its own scope. Depending on the work, deliverables can include:
Interface contracts, data mapping and documented ownership boundaries
API or messaging implementations with relevant integration tests
Operational guidance for tracing, exception handling and recovery
Scope, responsibilities and acceptance criteria are agreed before delivery begins.
WHERE WE CAN HELP
A practical starting point.
Examples of work we can scope around your organisation's needs.
→
Connecting an ERP to business applications through managed APIs
→
Introducing asynchronous messaging between services
→
Planning a transition from legacy BizTalk middleware to Azure services
Have a question about your particular system? Email SOA directly and start with a brief outline.
Should we use an API or a message queue?+
That depends on how the business interaction needs to behave. An API can suit a caller that needs an immediate response; a queue can help decouple processing from the availability of another system. Many architectures need both. We assess response time, consistency, failure handling and ownership before choosing a pattern.
Can you connect ERP software to other business applications?+
Yes. We can assess the available interfaces, required data and business rules, then define a practical integration approach. The solution depends on the ERP's supported capabilities and the systems involved. Data ownership, validation and support responsibilities need agreement alongside the technical connection.
Is BizTalk still your main service?+
Our main focus is Azure cloud engineering and bespoke .NET software. BizTalk expertise is part of a broader integration background and is useful when understanding legacy estates or planning middleware modernisation. We select an approach around the current requirement and the organisation's longer-term platform direction.
